Consuming tyramine-containing foods or drinks while you are taking tranylcypromine can raise your blood pressure to dangerous levels. These include the following: aged cheeses, avocados, banana skins, bologna and other processed luncheon meats, chicken livers, chocolate, figs, canned pickled herring, meat extracts, pepperoni, raisins, raspberries, soy sauce, vermouth, sherry and red wines.
