Cycloset (bromocriptine mesylate), quick-release bromocriptine (bromocriptine-QR), was approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, either as an adjunctive therapy or as monotherapy, in 2009.

- INDICATIONS:
Amenorrhea, Parkinsonism, infertility, acromegaly, type 2 diabetes
- CLASS: Antidiabetic, Dopamine receptor agonist, Hypoglycemic (antihyperglycemic) agent
- HALF-LIFE: initial: 6–8 hours; terminal: 50 hours
- CLINICALLY IMPORTANT, POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS INTERACTIONS WITH:
Alcohol, Antipsychotics, Azithromycin, Domperidone, Erythromycin, Isometheptene, Lanreotide, Levomepromazine, Macrolides, Memantine, Methyldopa, Metoclopramide, Octreotide, Pasireotide, Pseudoephedrine, Risperidone, Sympathomimetics, Zuclopenthixol - PREGNANCY: Contra-indicated in women who become pregnant or in the postpartum period
