PREGNANCY CATEGORY: C

Polythiazide is a sulfonamide and can be absorbed systemically. Sulfonamides can produce severe, possibly fatal, reactions such as toxic epidermal necrolysis and Stevens-Johnson syndrome.

Minizide is polythiazide and prazosin.
